1. What aspects of your medical education/training are important for your patients to know?
I graduated from the six-year B.S./M.D. accelerated medical program at Pennsylvania State University and Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1999. I went on to complete a three-year pediatric residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. I spent two years in private practice in New Jersey and then one year as a pediatric ER physician before joining Watson Clinic in 2006.

2. Why did you decide to go into the medical field?
I have always enjoyed service. From a young age, I spent time volunteering in soup kitchens and nursing homes. Due to my love of science, it was a natural progression for me to go into medicine. I enjoy caring for children. They respond quickly to medical care and are a joy to work with. There is tremendous satisfaction in seeing my patients grow from newborn babies to healthy young teenagers.

3. What is your philosophy for patient care?
I strive to provide excellent medical care for all my patients. A great aspect of pediatrics lies in the prevention of illness and disease processes. I want my patients to grow up healthy and happy. No parent wants to see their child suffer. My goal is to take care of every child that walks through the door and ease their parents' worry. We offer walk in appointments for this reason. Families should feel they are getting the best care possible. That is our goal at Watson Clinic.

4. Which accomplishment in your medical career are you most proud of?
I am proud to be a Watson Clinic provider. I spent almost 12 years in the Watson Clinic South office. I have recently located my full time pediatric practice to the beautiful Watson Clinic Highlands location serving Lakeland, Bartow, Winter Haven, Plant City and the surrounding areas.

5. What are some of the treatments or procedures you offer?
I see newborn babies to patients 18 years of age for well child care, immunizations and sports physicals. I also treat urgent medical concerns such as fever, colds, sore throats, ear pain, rashes, minor head and extremity injuries as well as chronic medical problems like ADHD, asthma, allergies, eczema and other illnesses.

6. Tell us a little about your upbringing and family life?
I was born in England and moved to the USA when I was 5-years-old. I grew up in New Jersey in a close knit family. I moved to Florida in 2006 and now live with my husband and two beautiful children.

7. What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy reading both nonfiction and fiction; I especially enjoy historical fiction. I also enjoy spending time with my family in the Florida outdoors and beaches. I love traveling and have a bucket list of places I would like to visit.

8. Anything else you would like to share with patients?
It is my honor and privilege to take care of children in this community.
