Dermatology

Watson Clinic's Department of Dermatology is led by a team of board-certified specialists, accompanied by highly qualified physician assistants and an experienced medical support team, who continue to set the standard for exceptional skincare in every community they serve.

Housed in multiple locations throughout Polk, Pasco and Hillsborough counties, the department provides convenient access for patients across north and south Lakeland, Zephyrhills, Sun City Center and surrounding communities.

Our dermatology team delivers prompt appointment availability close to home, and with the same level of personalized care that you’ve come to expect from Watson Clinic.

Utilizing the latest technologies and treatments in the field, our team provides a host of services designed to improve skin health.

These services include:
• General skin evaluations
• Diagnosis and treatment of all forms of skin cancer
• Detection and treatment of skin disorders, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, dermatitis and rosacea
• Treatment of skin, hair and nail diseases
• Dermatologic Surgery
• A variety of esthetical services, including chemical peels and microdermabrasions
• An onsite pathology lab offering the added convenience of a more streamlined testing and results process.

Maintaining a regular schedule for general skin evaluations is essential, particularly for those individuals with excessive recreational or occupational-related sun exposure, and those with a prior history or family history of pre-cancer, skin cancer, or melanoma.

Other department highlights include:

Dermatopathology
In addition to their dermatology practices, Drs. Linwood Bond, Jr. and Amy Prakash also specialize in dermatopathology. When diagnosis of a skin condition cannot be adequately attained through visual examination alone, a skin biopsy is sent to the dermatopathologist, who studies the tissue on a cellular level to produce the most accurate diagnosis possible.

Dr. Bond serves his dermatology patients from his South location, while his dermatopathology practice is housed out of the Bella Vista Building.

Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Dr. Theresa Cao specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at the Bella Vista Building. This specialty has broadened the field of dermatology and entails the precise removal of certain carcinomas in patients at high risk for reoccurrence. A Mohs' procedure boasts a higher cure rate and offers maximum tissue conservation for patients.
