Watson Clinic recently welcomed the following new addition to their team of Sports Medicine specialists.
Axel J. Santiago, MD offers Sports Medicine and Nonsurgical Orthopaedic care from Watson Clinic Main at 1600 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. His areas of expertise include joint and soft tissue injections and pain management, ultrasound-guided procedures, fracture management, minor office procedures, acute injuries, chronic and overuse injuries, imaging and diagnostics, and medical issues experienced by athletes.
He received his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, and went on to perform a residency in Family Medicine at Manati Medical Center in Manati, PR, and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at WellSpan Health, York Hospital, in York, PA. Dr. Santiago is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
