Watson Clinic recognizes one outstanding team member every month as the recipient of their Program for Employee Excellence and Recognition (PEER) award. The PEER Award is given to a team member who best exemplifies the patient-focused customer service standards that Watson Clinic strives to excel at every day. The following team member was recognized for this current month:
Betty Knowles, RN – December
Watson Clinic is proud to recognize Betty Knowles, RN, Senior Specialist in our Nurse Clinic at Watson Clinic Main, as our December PEER Award recipient. Betty was honored for her professionalism, compassion, and commitment to doing what was right for a patient facing a serious, limb-threatening infection. Recognizing the clinical urgency of the situation, Betty took the time to ensure that the full medical importance was clearly understood across teams. By collaborating with our financial experts, the care team worked together to responsibly find a solution that allowed the patient to receive critical treatment.
As Watson Clinic Chief Executive Officer Jason Hirsbrunner shared, “There is no policy book that covers every scenario we encounter. Occasionally, it takes extra effort and teamwork to do right by the patient—and Betty took that time.” Betty’s actions reflect the Watson Clinic culture of collaboration, trust, and always putting the patient first. Her willingness to step forward, communicate, and work as part of a team embodies the true spirit of the PEER Award. We thank Betty for living the Watson Clinic mission every day.
As PEER Award winner, Betty received a plaque, dinner at a local restaurant, a reserved parking spot and a gift certificate to the Medical Spa at Watson Clinic.
