Watson Clinic Offers Comprehensive Bladder Health Program

Thursday, March 04, 2010

Almost 1 in 3 Americans suffer from pelvis and bladder issues every year. These issues often include the involuntary loss of urine or stool, urinary urgency and frequency, pelvic pain, and a wide range of pelvis floor disorders.

Outside of the physical limitations caused by these disorders, patients are often met with a barrage of emotional and psychological defects as well.

“Most sufferers fail to realize that these disorders are extremely common, and not a normal part of aging,” says Tarek G. Garas, MD. “In fact, most of these conditions are highly treatable and oftentimes curable.”

Watson Clinic’s Incontinence & Bladder Health Program offers a vast array of services designed to restore a patient’s sense of relief and well being, including:

·         Urinary Incontinence

·         Pelvic Organ Prolapse

·         Fecal Incontinence

·         Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection

·         Fistula

·         Overactive Bladder

·         Interstitial Cystitis

Watson Clinic’s highly respected team of urologists and gynecologists work together to treat these debilitating disorders, through gentle and compassionate care and a variety of versatile treatment options.

Types of treatments vary depending upon the severity of the condition, but may include simple diet modifications, medications, overactive bladder therapies, pessary management, minimally invasive procedures or, in more advanced cases, pelvic reconstructive surgery.

“Whatever disorder you may suffer from, whether it involves urinary or bowel symptoms, pelvic organ prolapse or pelvic pain of any kind, we can find the right treatment option that will allow you to live a more fruitful, active life free of discomfort or embarrassment,” says Dr. Garas.

Watson Clinic’s Incontinence & Bladder Health Program features the following board-certified physicians who operate out of two convenient locations: David L. Bowers, MD and James A. Wilson, MD (Main Clinic), and Tarek G. Garas, MD (Main and Lakeland Highlands).

I learned that your program offers a physical therapist to provide pelvic floor rehabilitation for urinary leaking. I don't think that's offered anywhere else in Polk County. Good to know that Lakeland has services normally found in the bigger cities. Thanks to Watson Clinic.
