All surgical procedures are conveniently performed at nearby Lakeland Surgical and Diagnostic Center and Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center (LRH). Best of all, you’ll reap the benefits of receiving your care within the network of Watson Clinic’s 40 specialties and over 220 board-certified physicians, ensuring that nearly every medical need you may incur during your treatment can be met with maximum efficiency.

Permanent Birth Control Solution Offered
Watson Clinic’s gynecology department has added a new procedure available for permanent birth control called Essure, which can be performed in a doctor’s office in less than an hour. During the procedure, small flexible micro-inserts are placed into the fallopian tubes by way of the body’s cervix. Over a period of three months, the body and the inserts work together to form a natural barrier that prevents the sperm from meeting the egg.

Additional benefits of Essure include:

  • Essure doesn’t involve hormones or incisions
  • It can be performed in the doctor’s office without the need for general anesthesia. It may also be performed in the Outpatient Surgery Center.
  • Most women experience little to no downtime and can resume their regular activities within 24 to 48 hours after having the Essure procedure.
  • Essure has been FDA-approved and in-use for over five years.
  • Essure is 99.80 percent effective based on four years of follow up, with zero pregnancies in clinical trials.
This procedure is also performed by most of the OB-GYN doctors at Watson Clinic. Essure is not reversible and may not be appropriate for every woman.

In-Office Procedure Diminishes Heavy Periods
It’s a common condition that affects the quality of life for one in every five women. Now, women who suffer from heavy periods can find welcome assistance from the revolutionary Novasure procedure.

This quick procedure, which is offered by Watson Clinic’s gynecology department, successfully works to diminish or stop heavy periods in over 90% of women through the use of radio frequency.

Best of all, having the procedure performed in-office allows patients an opportunity to avoid the inconvenience and high costs of a hospital visit.

For more information on the Novasure procedure, please call 863-680-7243.
