The Cardiovascular Service is one of the largest and busiest organizational units of the 200 provider Watson Clinic multi-specialty group practice, located in Lakeland, Florida since 1941. Annually this service conducts over 4,000 diagnostic cardiac catherizations, more than 2,700 cardiac interventional procedures, over 6,000 pacemaker follow-ups, over 650 open-heart surgeries, over 7,000 cardiac rehabilitation visits, and approximately 4,500 echo studies.
In 2003, the Clinic opened a new state-of-the-art outpatient Heart and Vascular Institute within the main building of the Watson Clinic, and are performing both cardiac and peripheral vascular studies for our patients in this new facility. In 2004 our Echo Lab became one of the first echo labs in the region to achieve a full three year accreditation from ICAEL. Watson Clinic CV surgeons became the first in the county to use the new Di Vinci robotics to perform open heart procedures. With a strong emphasis
on quality
and clinical research the Watson Clinic Cardiovascular Service is a recognized leader in the healthcare industry in providing the very best medical treatment available to our patient population.
