Watson Clinic Orthopaedic Surgeon Set to Offer Lecture in Winter Haven

Watson Clinic’s orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine department is pleased to announce the next event in their popular monthly lecture series. On Friday, January 28 at 1:00 pm, board-certified orthopedic surgeon Douglas A. Shenkman, MD will present an informative lecture titled “A Knee Pain Talk to Help You Walk.’ During his presentation, Dr. Shenkman will discuss the latest non-operative options used to remedy knee pain, as well as a host of the most advanced surgical treatments, including minimally invasive surgery, computer-assisted procedures and gender specific knee replacements. Dr. Shenkman received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He performed his internship in General Surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He then performed a fellowship in Sports Medicine with the highly esteemed Dr. Thomas F. Winters. He has served as a team physician for a variety of high school and professional-level sports teams over the course of his career. In addition, he is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Eastern Orthopaedic Association and the American Medical Association.  He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine.
