Volpe, MD, has received his Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. This certification was awarded following a rigorous evaluation process, and attests to Dr. Volpe’s expertise in treating injuries related to athletic activities, such as knee and shoulder arthroscopy, including ACL reconstruction and rotator cuff repair. Dr. Volpe is also board-certified in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Volpe received his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed a Surgery Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Ohio State University Hospital. He was one of the first orthopedic surgeons in the area to be trained to perform minimally invasive surgery techniques for total and partial joint replacement surgery, including resurfacing procedures of the hip, knee and gender specific knee replacement (female knee). He also was one of the first surgeons in the area to complete training in computer navigation for joint replacement surgery. As a result of his orthopedic knowledge, expertise and patient outcomes, Money Magazine recognized him as Top Orthopedic Surgeon.
