Watson Clinic congratulates orthopaedic trauma surgeon Peter Kazmier, MD, and podiatric surgeon James J. Butler, Jr., DPM, on their recent board certifications.  Dr. Kazmier received his certification in orthopaedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Butler achieved his board-certification in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.  These board certifications attest to the exemplary qualifications, knowledge and continued practice of the respective specialties of both physicians.

 

 

Dr. Kazmier is a Watson Clinic specialist who performs surgical trauma procedures at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN.  He performed his internship in general surgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, where he also performed his residency and was a research fellow in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Kazmier is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Missouri State Orthopaedic Association, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the Florida Medical Association.

 

 

 

Dr. Butler received his podiatry degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.  He performed his internship and residency and served as the Chief Resident at Hollywood Medical Center in Hollywood, FL.  This three-year surgical residency involved a heavy emphasis on elective, traumatic and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. Dr. Butler is also board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and in wound care by the American Academy of Wound Management.  Dr. Butler is affiliated with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Academy of Wound Management.  Dr. Butler’s practice is located at Watson Clinic’s Main location at 1600 Lakeland Hills Boulevard in Lakeland.   Appointments are scheduled by calling 863-680-7214.
