Dr. Guzman specializes in the comprehensive care and treatment of complex cases for patients with hip, knee and shoulder disorders, minimally invasive surgery of the hip, knee, ankle and shoulder, computer-navigated surgeries, hip resurfacing procedures, partial knee replacement, total shoulder replacement and reverse total shoulder procedures.  His other areas of expertise include revision of failed hip and knee replacements, as well as management of infected hip and knee replacements, arthroscopy treatment of sports injuries, anterior cruciate ligament repair (ACL), rotator cuff repair and treatment of  trauma injuries.  Dr. Guzman is board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Florida Orthopaedic Society, and a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association and the Polk County Medical Association.

Dr. Guzman received his fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstructive surgery at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, MD, under the direction of internationally known adult reconstructive expert, Dr. Michael Mont.   He completed a five-year orthopaedic residency program at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.

Dr. Guzman achieved a Doctorate of Medicine degree with Honors from Pontificia Javeriana University, and also completed an internship and residency in orthopaedics and traumatology at Pontificia Javeriana University, San Ignacio Hospital.  Dr. Guzman has special training in upper extremity surgery from the Hospital Universitario San Ignacio in Bogotá, Colombia.  He also attended an observership in sports medicine at Campbell Clinic in Germantown, TN, and a general orthopaedics observership at Capital Region Orthopaedics in Albany, NY.
