The Watson Clinic orthopaedic surgery department is pleased to present the next event in their series of free informative lectures.
On Thursday, May 26 at 6:00 pm, Watson Clinic orthopaedic surgeon Russell C. Sklenicka, MD, will present a lecture titled ‘Why You SHOULD Have Knee Replacement Surgery,’ a discussion of the latest treatments for patients with knee problems due to arthritis, athletic injuries, birth-related and age-related bone issues. He will also address the benefits associated with knee replacement surgery – including recent advancements in knee replacement technology. This lecture will take place on the 3rd floor of Watson Clinic’s Bella Vista Building at 1755 N. Florida Avenue in Lakeland. The event is free of charge, but seating is limited. Dr. Sklenicka graduated "Doctor of Medicine With Honors" from the University of Florida College of Medicine and went on to complete Orthopaedic Surgery training also at the University of Florida and affiliated hospitals, including Shands and the Gainesville VA hospitals. His training honors included election to Alpha Omega Alpha, medical honorary society. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Sklenicka is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and has served the Academy as a member of the Board of Councilors, representing the State of Florida for six years. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of the Florida Orthopaedic Society, on which he has served as committee chair for ethics, membership, and program.
