The sports medicine department at Watson Clinic is pleased to offer a free Sports Physical Day to all incoming freshmen and returning athletes from competitive high school sports teams. The event will take place at the Main Clinic location, 1st floor west, Orthopaedic Department, 1600 Lakeland Hills Boulevard in Lakeland, on Saturday, June 4 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 pm.
The physical will satisfy the required criteria for clearance to participate in competitive school sports, and will be executed by the team of experts who comprise Watson Clinic’s sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery departments. Any athlete who requires further examination or treatment due to a pre-existing condition will receive a referral to their primary care physician or appropriate specialist. This screening should not replace the student’s annual visit to the pediatrician.
All eligible athletes should arrive with a completed pre-participation form from their coach, which is to be signed by a parent. There will be no charge for this screening.
Athletes from these schools are encouraged to adhere to the following schedule:
8 am – 9 am: Bartow High, McKeel Academy and Santa Fe Catholic
9 am – 10 am: Lake Gibson and Auburndale High Schools
10 am – 11 am: Lakeland and Fort Meade High Schools
