Watson Clinic Cardiologist Conducts Lecture On Coronary Artery Disease

1/19/2010

Watson Clinic is pleased to announce the next event in our series of informative cardiology lectures.  On Tuesday, January 19 at 6:00pm, board-certified cardiologist Ravi Srivastava, MD, will present “Coronary Artery Diseases: Learn the non-surgical techniques for detection.” During the lecture, Dr. Srivastava will review the less invasive procedures used to recognize coronary artery disease -- the leading cause of death in the United States for men and women.  The lecture will take place in the 3rd floor conference room of the Watson Clinic Bella Vista Building at 1755 N. Florida Avenue in Lakeland.  Please call 863-680-7500 for more information or to RSVP for this special lecture event.

Coronary artery disease often results from a build-up of fatty materials in the arteries of the heart, which inevitably can lead to a life-threatening heart attack. Modern advances in heart care allow doctors the opportunity to detect and treat a great number of these patients through non-surgical means, including medications, and lifestyle and diet modifications.

Dr. Srivastava received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN.  He went on to perform his internship and residency in internal medicine at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. He then performed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Srivastava is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Cardiology.  He is board-certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular disease.
