Shingles Vaccine Clinic

Update (7/19/18): Due to production and distribution shortages from the manufacturer, we are no longer able to administer first doses of the Shingrix vaccine at our shingles clinic or any of our locations until further notice.

In addition, patients who have already received their first dose of the Shingrix vaccine from our shingles clinic or Clinic provider will be contacted soon to reschedule their second dose.

Shingles (herpes zoster) is a painful skin rash caused by Varicella Zoster, the same virus that causes chickenpox. Once you’ve had chickenpox, the virus remains in your body in a dormant or inactive stage. If the virus becomes active again you may get shingles. Age, increased stress, and problems with the immune system may increase your chances of getting shingles.

Shingrix is an FDA-approved vaccine for the prevention of shingles in adults 50 years of age and older. It is delivered in two doses and is also suitable for patients who received other available shingles vaccines including zostavax.

Prior to receiving the vaccine, you should consult with your physician if:
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine or after a dose of Shingrix.
• You have a current illness with or without fever.

If you have any questions, please be sure to check with your physician or call the Shingles Vaccine Clinic Information Line at 863-680-7358.
